BE A MOCK COMPETITION JUDGE
Judges Needed Friday, November 18, 2016
Washington DECA Needs You!
Washington DECA is recruiting more than 200 business professionals to volunteer at the Western Region Leadership Conference (WRLC) where we will host approximately 2,200 students, advisors, and chaperones from most of the 13 states plus Guam that comprise Western Region DECA.
We need individuals with a background in business and an interest in helping high school students work toward their future career goals. Judges must be four years out of high school to participate.
What is Mock Competition?
Mock Competition is an opportunity for students to gain experience in competition without the pressure of earning a particular score or "making it to stage." Students who participate in Mock Competition improve their chances of doing well at future events. The competition is an Individual Series Event role play.
What Is the Role of a Judge?
In the role-play scenario, the judge's role is defined, and criteria is provided for evaluating the students as they share their business solutions. Judges are asked to provide verbal feedback after the role play, to help students gain a better understanding of how to present themselves in competition.
